The Ten Gods (십성) are the grammar of a Saju chart. The elements tell you what is present; the Ten Gods tell you what each thing does in relation to you.
Every other character in your chart stands to your Day Master in one of five ways, and each of those splits in two depending on whether the polarity matches. Five relationships, two polarities, ten names.

A rough sense of each pair:
- Companion / Rival — peers, siblings, competitors. Support and comparison at once.
- Output / Expression — what you make and how you show it. Output is steady and generative; Expression is sharper and less willing to be contained.
- Wealth — what you act upon and manage. In relationship readings this is also where attraction and provision live.
- Pressure / Structure — what constrains you. Structure reads as rules you accept; Pressure reads as demand you did not choose.
- Resource — what feeds and protects you. Support, learning, and where you retreat when tired.
Two cautions. First, "wealth" is a translation of convention, not a prediction about money. Second, none of the ten is good or bad on its own — the same configuration reads differently depending on whether your Day Master is strong or weak in that chart.
This is why a serious reading names the configuration it is drawing from. If a statement about how you love cannot be traced back to a specific relationship in your chart, it is decoration.
